Minecraft: Mining With A Twist

Published 2010-08-26 by RadicalMisnamer.

BACKGROUND:

Minecraft, based off of Infiminer, a mining based game which has far too much different things for you to try. You start out with as little as nothing and you use your resources to your best ability. You have to be quick though. At night the evil monsters such as zombies and creepers start to attack. What do I do? Do what you can do best. Build a fort into a wall or something and defend yourself from them.

GAMEPLAY:

This game takes alot of time to get far but it is well worth the effort. You start out with just your hands and use your ability to cut down and get as many pieces of wood as you can get before nightfall. You then use your 4 crafting slot to create planks and make your first workbench. It's a great experience to work with nothing to the riches which is wood, stone, and ore galore. The main basis of the game is survival so you have to have weapons to defend yourself, a nice fort, and enough torches to place throughout your fort and nearby areas of interest. The concept of the game is fantastic.

MINING:

The second major concept other than survival is mining. This means that the deeper you mine the more different ores you'll find. You can find caves which have some different types of ore deposits such as iron, coal, and gold. Diamond can be found but it is also hard to find. You can mostly find it near lava pits. I recommend if you do use some cobblestone to deal with that problem then use your pikaxe to pick it back up again once all the lava is dealt with. This is by far the second best feature of this game.

GRAPHICS:

This is not one of those graphics-make-all sort of reviews. I'm not the type of person to bash a game for having shit graphics and looking like a Sega Dreamcast in the 21st century. So i'm going to say that it's pretty good for a retro-style type game. It has all blocky objects which means everything is all block shaped even the animals themselves. It also has pretty good graphics for a two to three year old game. It is not officially out of Alpha yet but it still continues to be updated to this day until sales drop.

FINAL CONCLUSIONS:

This game is as good as it gets for only a small fee. It is something which you rarely see in todays game market and it also is an independent developer. It features alot of different things for you to do for such a nice game as this. It is a recommended game which I expect you to try and see for yourself. It's a wholenew experience to the PC gaming world which will sure inspire you to do the same in your near possible future.

 RATINGS:
