Bayonetta

Well to start off, I will post a new blog update every Sunday. I will also include pictures of the game I am reviewing.
This week's review is for Bayonetta.
When I first started Bayonetta, I really didn't like it. I kept getting killed, and honestly my health was very scarce. However, around chapter 3, I started to get the hang of the game. In Bayonetta, every time you die, you only have yourself to blame. You could go through the whole game without getting hit once. The key to this is the Right Trigger. This is known as evade in the game, and when timed right, you can enter "Witch Time", which slows don't time almost to a standstill, allowing you to deal damage to your enemy without the fear of taking damage. This is especially very useful for bosses. Now, one reason I wasn't a fan of the game at the beginning was getting killed as I mentioned, and evading helped, but i still got hit and lost health. This is where concocting enters the game. Pressing start and pressing RT once allows you to access the inventory. You will see a wheel that shows you all of your items. if you go over to the left you can see the concoction wheel, which allows you to use gathered material to make lollipops, which are the health, magic and stat increase of the Bayonetta world. Making these lollipops helps out with the game greatly. Another great and helpful feature is the "Gates of Hell". You will gain access to this during Chapter 1. Here, you can purchase techniques, lollipops, Witch Hearts (Increases overall health), Moon Pearls (Increases over Magic), Costumes (Unlocked after beating the game on Normal), and other things. You pay with Halos which are collected from killing the various types of Angels in the game.
The game is also littered with Collectables. There are 4 over all. Antonio's Notes, Angel Hymns, Alfheims and Umbra Witch Resting Places.
Antonio's notes are guides to the world you find yourself in, but have no real value. angel Hymns are songs that can be given to Rodin in the Gates of Hell. In return he will give you a new weapon. One weapon for every Hymn. Alfheims are portals to Paradiso. They are like challenge rooms, and if beaten, they give great rewards. Finally, Umbra Witch resting places are just your average treaure chests. They can contain anything from a broken with heart or moon pearl, to a Hymn piece.
The game was great and I would give it about a 8/10. It has replay-ability and offers a decent storyline.
